India, the world’s most populous country and a leading economic power, has embarked on a massive program to expand the use of Blockchain technology for government services through the National Blockchain Framework (NBF) and Vishvasya Stack.
What is the Indian government doing?
The aim is to expand the use of Blockchain in various government services such as land and property registration, birth and death certificates, education certificates, state subsidies, insurance services and supply chain.
The Indian government has stated that more than 340 million (340 M+) documents have already been securely verified through the Blockchain infrastructure.
Why is Blockchain technology special?
✅ Once a piece of data or financial transaction is entered into a blockchain network, it is very difficult for any politician, official, or hacker to change or delete it, and all changes are recorded, increasing transparency
✅ Instead of keeping all the data on a single server, it is distributed across the network, reducing the risk of a single server going down.
✅ Smart Contracts can automate certain processes, increase efficiency, and reduce the number of middlemen or corrupt officials.
Previously, many thought that blockchain was only used for crypto. But when a powerful country like India puts its government system on the blockchain to provide government services, verify documents, and build digital trust, it shows that blockchain is the foundation of trust in the future world!
The world’s most powerful nations have now officially acknowledged that the complex cryptographic security of blockchain technology is much more difficult to break than traditional servers and centralized databases.
