The operation launched by the US military to arrest Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has been accused of using a secret weapon called a ‘sonic’, or high-powered sound wave. According to the New York Times, the US military has used a very powerful weapon that has never been seen in any military conflict in the world before, and the Venezuelan security forces have been completely helpless.
A Venezuelan security official who witnessed the incident has stated that as soon as the operation began, all of his radar systems suddenly went off, and a few seconds later he saw a large number of drones hovering in the sky. According to his statement, this secret device used by the US military was a device that emitted a loud sound or a powerful wave, and as soon as it was activated, he felt an unbearable pain as if his head was exploding. Many soldiers had their noses bleeding, some were vomiting blood, and everyone fell to the ground and was unable to get up again.
According to the New York Post, the US used only eight helicopters for this hugely effective operation, and only about twenty soldiers landed. Although numerically small, the technologically advanced US troops took control of the entire area in less than 30 minutes. It is reported that this was not a battle but a one-sided attack, and that even though there were hundreds of Venezuelan soldiers, they were unable to face the rapid and accurate fire of the US troops.
Although Venezuelan President Maduro was staying in a highly secure official residence like a fortress with steel walls, the US troops entered at lightning speed and arrested him without even letting the door close. The US military has spent months studying Maduro’s daily routine, diet and even pets, and has been training in a model of his home, said General Dan Kane, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The Venezuelan Interior Ministry confirmed that about 100 security personnel were killed in the attack, and experts say that such physical injuries can be caused by ‘directed energy’ weapons that use microwave or laser energy.
Amid these events, US President Donald Trump has declared himself acting president of Venezuela in a social media post, stating that he will hold the position from January 2026. The US has cited Maduro’s regime as a threat to international security, drug trafficking and migration issues as reasons for this emergency action. Trump has emphasized that the United States will continue to govern Venezuela and that this will continue until a safe transfer of power is achieved.
Trump also appears to have taken tough decisions regarding Venezuela’s oil resources under the new situation. He has stated that the interim government will provide the United States with between 30 and 50 million barrels of high-quality oil, and the money received from selling it at market prices will be controlled by the president. Trump, who has held talks with major oil companies such as Exxon Mobil and Chevron, has said that the United States will decide which companies can invest in Venezuela.
The attack has caused great fear among Latin American countries, and this situation has further escalated with Trump’s statement that Mexico is also on his list. Meanwhile, reports have revealed that Donald Trump has issued a special order to prepare plans to acquire Greenland, and that military officials see it as an illegal act. The Venezuelan president and his wife have been arrested and are currently being taken to New York.
