Minister Nalinda Jayatissa says that government institutions have taken the necessary measures in response to the disaster situation in accordance with the announcements issued by the Meteorological Department and other institutions.
Accordingly, the Minister stated while participating in the Derana 360 program yesterday (15) that by November 24, awareness had been raised through the Disaster Management Unit to disaster management officers and tri-service officers to prepare.
The Minister stated that awareness had been raised to the Navy, the Civil Defense Department and the Police, and that the National Building Research Organization had issued the necessary warnings.
Minister Nalinda Jayatissa further stated that the police had issued warnings to the public and boats had been prepared in accordance with the warnings given by the meteorological institutions, and that government institutions had acted in accordance with the warnings given.
